A group of students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with funding from the BOCHK charitable foundation, tried to promote vegetarian diets inside the campus with the hope of raising the public’s awareness on vegetarianism and to create an environment for public to act out. They would also like to set up a vegetarian restaurant inside the campus in order to promote low-carbon eating.
The program includes a series of lectures, cooking classes and carnival. Chinese, Indian and western styles of vegetarian diets were introduced by experts and various experts were invited to give lectures on information associated with the vegetarian diet.
A school bazaar was held as an ending for the activities, vegetarian snacks from different countries were provided, so to further spread the vegetarian culture. There were also information about green diet and photo exhibition in the bazaar.
