FreshMart@SOGO Hong Kong together with Green Monday held Go Green Fair again between 6th April and 12th April, in order to promote green culture. At the fair, there were more than hundreds of vegetarian cooking ingredients and organic products for sale.
Green Anchor Program, training of secondary school students in promotion of low carbon life
The Hong Kong Speech and Swallowing Therapy centre, Green Monday, Baptist University of Hong Kong, Bank of China, Hong Kong and internet radio television HK- FEEL has sponsored the Green Anchor Program, which trains secondary school students to promote low carbon life.
A group of students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with funding from the BOCHK charitable foundation, tried to promote vegetarian diets inside the campus with the hope of raising the public’s awareness on vegetarianism and to create an environment for public to act out.
Recruitment of the “School Anchor ” Program
The Hong Kong Speech and Swallowing Therapy Centre and Green Monday have organized the fifth “ School Anchor” program.
The program is sponsored by the Bank of China Hong Kong Charitable Foundation and supported by Hong Kong Feel.
With the support of Green Monday, the Baptist University organized a vegetarian carnival , “BU V-Day”, on 14 April 2014. Mr. Wong Kam Sing, Secretary for the Environment, was among the guests at the opening ceremony and appreciated the efforts of Baptist University in environmental protection and in the promotion of vegetarian diet.
Back in 2012, in order to promote sustainable eating, Green Monday and Sailing Boat Catering Management Ltd collaborated to promote “Green Monday School Meals”, which encouraged over 80,000 students to consume vegetarian dishes at least one day per week. And starting in November 2013, a “Double Green Monday” project was launched.
Green Monday organized the “Love Our Planet 4.22 Whole City Goes Green Monday” ceremony on 22nd April at C.C.C. Heep Woh Primary School (Cheung Sha Wan).
Our guest of honour, Ms. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBS, JP, pointed out that everyone played a part in the reduction of carbon emission.
